This will lower the cost of raw materials because input GST can be deducted from the output GST due on sales. In addition, GST paid on a variety of services, such as legal consultations, audit fees, and engineering consultations can be deducted from output GST. Previously, service tax paid as an input credit could not be offset against output excise\/VAT. All of these will significantly reduce costs.
